Kathryn Harper
As a consultant or full-time employee, Kathryn’s professional portfolio includes 20 years in institutional fund development (foundation, federal government, corporate), multimillion-dollar grant program management, c3 and c4 donor management, nonprofit administration, philanthropy communications, policy and advocacy, organizational effectiveness, and senior-level writing and storytelling. Her experience spans diverse national and international missions with an equity lens across economic inclusion, community development finance, education, disability rights, gender rights, public health, civic participation, and democracy.Â

Kathryn’s experience includes drafting and editing 6- and 7-figure grants and appeals, advocacy, member, and coalition communications, digital content, direct marketing, brand collateral, research reports, speeches, and blogs, and narrative crafting and storyboarding. Her grounding tenet is that words matter. In service to change and progress, she has dedicated her words and writings to moving money, power, and opportunity from where they are to where they need to be.Â

Kathryn holds an MPA from Seattle University and a BA in History from Antioch University. Born and brought up in Hawaii and a former resident of Seattle and San Francisco, she and her wife have resided in Washington, D.C. since 2016.
