Devonte Wilson
Devonte Wilson is a multi-faceted leader, blending his roles as a faith leader, community activist, and public policy consultant. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Pre-Law) with a minor in History from UNC Greensboro, followed by dual Master's degrees in Divinity and Public Administration from Liberty University. Appointed by NC Governor Roy Cooper in 2019, Devonte chaired the Youth Engagement Committee of the NC Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service. He also made history as the 75th President of the Young Democrats of North Carolina, joining a select group of African American males in this role. As an advocate for diversity in education, Devonte addressed national audiences, including the National New Leaders Council, where he championed the importance of black male educators.
In 2021, he graduated from the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership, further honing his skills in public service. Transitioning from teaching to policy, Devonte joined the staff of the NC General Assembly before serving in the United States House of Representatives in June 2021. Devonte now serves as the Northeast Outreach Manager with the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, an organization that advocates for strong U.S. global leadership through diplomacy and development. The coalition unites businesses, NGOs, and national security and foreign policy experts to promote America's global engagement.
